“YouTube overwhelms new bloggers”: Why content producers are not satisfied with the new rules

From February 21, 2018, the new rules for the YouTube Partner Program went into effect. To participate in the show, the channel must have more than 1,000 subscribers and 4000 viewing times in the last 12 months.
This is the second tightening of the rules for the year. The first was in April 2017 – and it was necessary to collect 10,000 views on the entire existence of the channel to participate in the merger. There are no requirements for that – even though there is only 1 video on the channel, it has been tested by moderators.

According to the YouTube group, there was a sharp increase in the number of channels in 2017. Increasing the number of video makers who have made a living by running a YouTube channel.
New rules have been introduced to protect the community against spammers, followers and users of negative content.

What has changed in the rules
Generating revenue through channels can be disabled, even if it has over 1000 subscribers and 4000 viewing times. To prevent this, follow the rules of the community that prohibit:
Use services to zoom views and subscribers.
Encourage visitors to click on contextual ads or do it yourself.
You act as a different YouTube blogger.
Show nude on camera or upload erotic content.
Demonstrate violent or exaggerated blasphemy.
Speak discriminatory statements or show disgust.
Even large channels cut the headline of revenue by breaking at least one line. If no videos are added to the channel for more than half a year, the program can be disabled.
Is Logan Paul in this?
Many YouTube users found this tight link with Logan Paul, a blogger who shot dead a man in a suicide jungle in Japan at the end of December, and caused a huge scandal, as the video was viewed and then deleted about 6 million times in a single day.
However, YouTube staff say this is a coincidence and the new rules have been drafted for several weeks. Users have also confirmed that participation in the Partnership Program does not affect the ranking of Clips.

This is the last, but only one, big scandal of 2017. Many major advertisers have refused to cooperate with YouTube:
Deutsche Bank;
Scores & Spencer;
Johnson & Johnson;
The British government and many more.
The large withdrawal of advertisers is because their ads are integrated into videos containing unwanted and sometimes extremist content. That’s why YouTube decided to better monitor which videos are inserted into contextual ads.
How it will affect the industry
Channels that previously participated in the affiliate program, but have not entered it now, have to invest heavily in content creation or leave YouTube altogether. This will also reduce the number of new channels. But only those who plan to earn with clickpad videos, Berezaliva, and the like.
That is, the new rules will force the public to create high quality content. Calling 1000 subscribers is very difficult, and fraud does not help: it is controlled by appraisers when an application is submitted, because dye channels or clickbait channels rarely subscribe.
Also, 4000 hours saw 4000 different things. To collect 4000 hours of sightseeing on five-minute rolls, you need to have 48,000 views. Also watch the video till the end.
Many teachers who have missed the opportunity to participate in the merger program have decided to turn more creative. In this regard, there are many questions on the network about adding the amount already earned if the account in AdSense is less than $ 100.
It has already been announced that users can close an AdSense account and receive all the money earned for less than $ 100 or continue creating content until they meet the new criteria. You can send a request for participation in the Channel Exemption Program after 30 days of placing a new application.
User response
Users have vaguely accepted this update. On the one hand, many people understand that there will be high quality content and low negative content. Youtube, on the other hand, is accused of not developing smaller channels.
Many authors complain that their content is rarely included in the search, and sometimes even subscribers do not see it.

Still care teachers say that slander and debate about someone else’s content is very popular, but not creativity or social experimentation.
2017 has a big impact on YouTube. Many have lost their ability to participate in the merger program due to the new rules. Most of the big marketers stopped cooperating and the rest started earning very little.
Now bloggers should rely more on direct collaboration with advertisers than on situational advertising. Brands began to order blogger ads directly.
